Ingredients
- Dal: 1 cup
- Onion: 1 large
- Tomato: 1 Medium
- Vegetables: carrot, beans etc
- Chilli: .5 tsp
- Curry Leaves: few
- Hing: 1 pinch
- Turmeric: .25 tsp
- Sambar powder: 1.5 tsp
- Oil
- Mustard: 0.5 tsp
- Jeera: 0.5 tsp
- Salt
- Sugar
Procedure
- Boil dal and keep aside
- Heat oil and then add mustard and Jeera. Wait for it to splutter.
- Fry cut onions till glassy
- Add tomatoes and cook till mushy.
- Add turmeric and hing and fry lightly
- Add Sambar powder and chilli powder
- Add the boiled dal.
- Add salt and tamarind to taste
- Add cut veggies.
- Cook for 2 whistles
