Ingredients
- Dal (Masoor) : 150 gms
- Onion: 1 big (chop)
- Tomato: 1 big (chop)
- Green Chlli: 1
- Chopped garlic : 7 clove (optional)
- Cumin seeds: 0.5 tsp
- Oil: 2 tbsp
- Salt: to taste
- Turmeric: 1 tsp
- Coriander Powder: 2 tsp
- Kasuri Methi: 1tbsp (optional)
Procedure
- Soak dal for 30 mins.
- Heat the oil in a cooker.
- Add Cumin seed and chopped garlic. Wait for it to cook.
- Add chopped onion and fry till it becomes golden
- Add dry spices and cook for a very short time
- Chili powder
- Coriander powder
- Turmeric
- Add tomatoes and fry till it becomes soft.
- Add the soaked dal and fry for 2 mins.
- Add water in 1:4 ratio.
- Close the cooker and cook for 15 mins.
- Add salt to taste and kasuri methi to garnish.
